Inspection Method for Metal Mesh and Precision Stamping Parts after Plating

After high speed stamping, the metal mesh, precision stamping part, metal mesh net etc. is only raw material, Only after plating can reflect the product’s value. The main purpose of plating is to prevent product oxidation, reduce contact resistance, increase solder resistance, wear resistance, and increase life.

Perforated screen plating is to add a plating layer on the surface by using electrode reaction to form a coating on the surface of precision stamping parts. The material (workpiece) with a conductive surface is used as the cathode, and the dissolved metal (Ni, Sn/Pb, etc.) is used as the anode. It is placed in an electrolyte solution. Under the action of external direct current, the anode metal It dissolves into metal ions and precipitates on the cathode (workpiece) to form an electroplated layer firmly bonded to the work piece.

Why there’s Material Pull Phenomenon Occur during Micro-hole Stamping?

Metal mesh, small hole, tiny hole and micro hole stamping production easily with material pull issue, this phenomenon will affect appearance issue, seriously can lead the products to scrap meanwhile damage micro-hole stamping tooling. Wanna know the reason?

The reason of material pulling during micro-hole stamping is that the punch die is not separated from the sheet material in time, which causes the material to be stripped. The punch die return spring force can be increased and replaced if necessary. The punch lift the stainless steel micro-hole mesh but failed to extract it from the stainless steel micro-hole mesh. The stripping was caused by insufficient unloading force. When the punch moved upward, the sheet did not leave the punching needle and moved upward with the sheet. 

The scrap rebounds and caused material jam issue. So need to flatten the stainless steel material, and avoids collision. If there is a problem with the lower tooth plate of the clamp, grind the upper and lower die to make the die mouth sharp. The upper die or lower die has become blunt. To reduce scrap rebound, you can add a polyurethane return spring to the upper die

How did you do Heat Treatment to the Micro-Hole Stamping Die?

Heat treatment mainly used to prolong the service life, hardness, wear resistance, strength of micro-hole stamping dies, and reduce the manufacturing cost.

Generally, only two processes: heating and cooling are used for tooling heat treatment.

Before heated the precision stamping die, first buried & sealed the mold in the underground pit furnace, secondly add carbon-rich liquid to the furnace; (those liquid can be decomposed into carbon atoms at high temperature and penetrate into the micro-hole mold). Thirdly put the mold in a preheated furnace, wait for a period of time to reach the preset temperature and keep it warm, finally take out the mold.

 

Place the heated stamping mesh tooling in a cooling tank, the cooling method used here is quenching. There is an aqueous solution or oil in the quenching pool, put the punching die in for a period of time and take it out; then heat it with a high-frequency machine (it is a super high-power machine that changes 50HZ frequency into 200HZ current) to complete the quenching process.

 

Micro-hole stamping die heat treatment only used heating and cooling method, but generally, there are three processes for heat treatment: heating, heat preservation, and cooling.

How to Deal with Piercing Forming Spray?

The principle of piercing forming spray technology is that charge the plastic powder by high-voltage electrostatic equipment, and spray the coating on metal mesh surface under the electric field action. The powder will be uniformly absorbed on the surface of the mesh net to form a powder Coating; while the powdered coating is leveled and solidified after high temperature baking, the plastic particles will melt into a dense layer of final protective coating with different effects; firmly attached to the surface of the metal mesh.

Metal mesh spraying is using electrostatic powder spraying method, powder spraying is using electrostatic generator to make plastic powder with electric adsorption on the iron plate surface, let the powder melt attached to the metal surface under 180℃ to 220℃ baking.

How to Maintain Stainless Steel Perforated Sheets?

Stainless steel Perforated Sheets with good corrosion resistance, but if do not pay attention to maintain, perforated Sheets will be rust or serious damage due for other media invasion. So how to maintain stainless steel Perforated Sheets?

  1. If there’s dust and dirt on the stainless steel mesh surface, use soap, weak detergent or warm water to clean it.
  2. If the perforated screen is rusty, use 10% nitric acid or abrasive detergent to clean it. Or it can also washed with a special rust remover.
  3. If there are bleaching agents or various acid substances attached to the stainless steel perforated screen surface, washed it immediately with clean water, and then soaked with ammonia solution or neutral carbonated soda solution, or use neutral detergent or warm water to wash.
  4. If stainless steel perforated screen surface is polluted by grease, oil, and lubricating oil. Wipe it with a soft cloth, and then clean it with a neutral detergent or ammonia solution or a special detergent.
